I forgot my password. How can I recover it?

For security reasons, we don’t store your password. Instead, we only keep a one-way cryptographic check sum of that password. Under no circumstances can this check sum be used to reverse-engineer your original password. If you lose your password, you’ll have to set up a new one after confirming your identity. In order to reset your password, just click “Forgot password” and follow the instructions. We’ll send you an email to the address you specified at the time of registration.

Why do you need my email? Do you really need it?

Your email address is used as your account identifier for accessing backup copies of your data in the cloud and syncing between your devices. In addition, we use your email address to help you recover you password should you lose or forget one. You can add or change your email address at any time in your account using the “Settings” -> “PersonalCloud” tab.

I changed my phone or tablet. How can I access my photos and other data?

Simply install the app on your new device and sign in to your account with your email address. Your files will be automatically downloaded from your PersonalCloud. Let the app run in the foreground until the sync is finished.

How does PersonalLife protect my personal information?

We encrypt every file with a secure 256-bit encryption key. Even if your account is compromised, the potential intruder will only gain access to encrypted data, so they won’t be able to decrypt and access your files. Any data stored in your PersonalCloud is encrypted with the same algorithm.

What is the “Fake Password” and how do I use it?

The alternative account enables you using a secondary picture gallery and an alternative set of data. If you are forced to reveal what’s inside, you’ll be able to unlock the app using an alternative password. In this case, information from your alternative account will be displayed.
